Vintage Post-Impressionist Lemon Tree Acrylic Painting by Kwait
This painting reminds me so much of art nouveau—the use of color here is straight out of that period—yellow/mustard/gold, olive and blue. The warm tones on the tree versus the absolutely spectacular cool blue used for the sky. The use of nature and botany as primary subject. And the lack of any serious detail, but rather painting with long curving, sinuous lines. I think this is really a beautiful work of art. So simple, yet so spectacular. The work of a talented artist.
Painting is on boxed canvas, measuring 18 x 24”. The artwork comes unframed. The artist painted the sides of the canvas so you can hang as-is, without a frame. However, the prior frame rubbed some of the paint off the edges—It’s no biggie and you can absolutely still hang without a frame. If you do decide to frame this artwork, the rubbed sections will be covered by the new frame. Boxed canvas is not deep at all, maybe 1/2-3/4”, so you will have great choice of frames.
